How To Clone HiveRemesas - Create your own remittance business [EN/ES]

It was news a couple of weeks ago that in Cuba it is already possible to pay the electric bill with HIVE and HBD. Many users congratulated the idea and were even eager to know how to replicate in their countries the system that makes this possible.
I couldn't avoid feeling proud of this and in fact, I never thought that the addition of this new service to my startup would have so many impacts.
For this reason, I have felt motivated to explain in detail what is the system that allows to provide this and many other services that are listed in the Telegram bot owned by @HiveRemesas.
First of all, let's be clear about what HiveRemesas is and what is its raison d'锚tre:
HiveRemesas is a crypto-fiat exchange system created by myself. It was launched on August 12, 2022 and has been operational since then (except for a small break of less than 24 hours during the year-end celebrations). This system, from now on HR, is not an exchange, it does not allow the exchange of one cryptocurrency for another, it is also not automated (not fully) and it has no source code (I don't even know how to code). I highlight the latter to explain why I can't release it as an open-source tool.
What I can do is to indicate the precise tools that must be used to replicate at least a part of its operation.
I have the initial part of the process 100% automated. This is the moment when customers place their order. For this I use a Telegram bot that I set up myself. It was not an easy job, because initially I had to study which of the existing no-code options was more convenient. Some of them were very advanced but paid. As a Cuban I don't have access to financial instruments like Zelle, PayPal, VISA or Mastercard... so I had to discard all those payment tools. But that didn't stop me and I finally found a builder for Telegram bots that offers its most basic functions for free and some extra features for payment through cryptocurrencies. I was immediately happy, because I do handle cryptocurrencies (not for the sake of my username).
I would like to go into much more detail in this section but since there are other businesses trying to compete with me I prefer to omit certain details and let everyone do their own research on the most practical way to do the initial information collection. I hope you can understand me 馃槃.
Having clear the tools to be used, I had to create the flow for each service to be incorporated.
The process is as follows:
1- The client starts the Telegram bot: @HiveRemesasBot.
2- The client selects the desired service.
3- The client selects the cryptocurrency with which he/she will pay for the service (HIVE or HBD).
4- The client provides the information required by the bot:
- Enter the amount of HIVE or HBD to send.
- Observe how much he/she is going to receive and if he/she agrees, accepts.
- Enter account number, phone number or electric bill.
- Enter Hive username.
- Enter phone number to be notified via SMS (optional).
- Send the required amount of HIVE or HBD.
5- The customer receives a notification that his order has been received and will be processed as soon as possible.
Up to this point the process is fully automated. The bot is programmed to collect the necessary information according to the requested service.
Once the order has been completed by the customer, the bot transmits these responses to the administrator (me in this case). From this point on the process becomes completely manual and is operated by a single person (again, myself).
The first thing I check is that the information provided by the client is correct, because sometimes users generate orders with random information to explore the bot operation, it is inevitable.
Then I check that the amount of HIVE or HBD indicated by the user matches the amount that has been sent to the 
If the order has been filled correctly and the quantity sent is correct, then I proceed to complete the order.
At this point there are two options:
If the amount of fiat money to be paid out is not too large for my pocket, then I assume the full cost of that order and keep the HIVE or HBD sent to me. At some point in the future I sell the assets I accumulate, recovering my investment and a bonus (my profit for providing the service).
The other option, if I do not have enough liquidity, is to go directly to the market to sell the HIVE or HBD received. I generally make use of peer2peer exchanges already established in Cuba.
This last option may be more time-consuming for the client, since I must go out to negotiate the value received. In any case, an order never exceeds 24 hours to be completed.
Back to the flow of this system:
6- Once I have enough FIAT currency to fulfill the order, I make the correspondent remittance to the customer.
Now I must stop again, to explain another of the critical points of the system: Transferm贸vil.
Transferm贸vil is an application created by the Central Bank of Cuba in combination with ETECSA, the Cuban Telecommunications Company. Said app allows the payment of various services, such as those provided in HiveRemesas. Meaning:
- Cash transfers between bank accounts.
- Electricity bill payment.
- Recharge of mobile balance.
- Recharge of nautas accounts (accounts for internet connection via WIFI).
- among other services.
The best thing about this app is that it not only allows me to pay my own bills, but also the bills of anyone else.
In the particular case of the electric bill, I only need the user to tell me the ID of the bill.
I think this is a critical point for the possible replication of this system in other countries, because if you are not able to pay someone else's electric bill in a simple way, I don't think it would be viable for you to implement your own version of HiveRemesas. Please confirm in the comments if I made myself understood.

7- As a last step, once the customer's order is completed, I go back to the Telegram bot to send him through the bot itself a confirmation message as follows:
The Transfer was completed.
Beneficiary: 9224XXXXXXXXXXXX0400
Amount: 2040.00 CUP

As you can see, there are two fundamental pillars in this system, one of them is the Telegram bot through which I collect orders. I created a bot because I don't know how to code, also because being hosted on Telegram I don't have to pay hosting, nor domain 馃榿. That is, system maintenance price = 0 (zero).
But if you know how to code, you can create a website, an application for Android or iOS... or whatever you can think of.
The second pillar for this system to work is (in my case) the Transferm贸vil application, because through it I have the possibility to pay for the basic services of any Cuban, as long as I have enough information.
If you think about it, it is not genius, or maybe it is and I am minimizing myself.
I just hope this post gives some light on what HiveRemesas is, its raison d'锚tre, how it was built, using what tools and what is the mechanism to make it work. For doubts, comments or recommendations you can reach me at:

Fue noticia hace un par de semanas que en Cuba ya es posible pagar la factura el茅ctrica con $HIVE y $HBD. Muchos usuarios congratularon la idea e incluso quedaron deseosos de saber c贸mo replicar en sus pa铆ses el sistema que hace esto posible.
No puedo evitar sentirme orgulloso por esto y de hecho, ya que jam谩s pens茅 que la adici贸n de ese nuevo servicio a mi emprendimiento tendr铆a tanta repercusi贸n.
Por tal motivo, me he sentido motivado a explicar con lujo de detalle cu谩l es el sistema que permite brindar este y otros tantos servicio que se encuentran listados en el bot de Telegram propiedad de @HiveRemesas.
Ante todo, dejemos claro qu茅 es HiveRemesas y cu谩l es su raz贸n de ser:
HiveRemesas es un sistema de intercambio crypto-fiat creado por mi persona. Fue puesto en marcha el d铆a 12 de agosto de 2022 y ha estado operativo desde entonces (excepto por una peque帽a pausa menor a 24 horas durante las celebraciones de fin de a帽o). Este sistema, en lo adelante HR, no es un exchange, no permite el intercambio de una criptomoneda por otra, tampoco est谩 automatizado (no en su totalidad) y no tiene un c贸digo fuente (ni siquiera s茅 c贸mo programar). Resalto esto 煤ltimo para explicar el porqu茅 no puedo lanzarlo como una herramienta open-source.
Lo que s铆 puedo hacer es indicar las herramientas precisas que se deben utilizar para replicar, al menos, una parte de su funcionamiento.
La parte inicial del proceso la tengo 100% automatizada. Este es el momento en el cual los clientes realizan su pedido. Para ello me ayudo de un bot de Telegram que yo mismo configur茅. No fue un trabajo sencillo, pues inicialmente tuve que estudiar cu谩l de las opciones no-code existentes me era m谩s conveniente. Algunas eran muy avanzadas pero de pago. Como cubano no tengo acceso a instrumentos financieros como Zelle, PayPal, VISA o Mastercard... as铆 que tuve que descartar todas esas herramientas de pago. Pero eso no me detuvo y al fin encontr茅 un builder para bots de Telegram que ofrece sus funciones m谩s b谩sicas de manera gratuita y algunas caracter铆sticas extras de pago mediante criptomonedas. Enseguida me alegr茅, pues criptomonedas si manejo (no por gusto mi username).
Me gustar铆a extenderme mucho m谩s en esta secci贸n pero dado que hay otros negocios intentando hacerme la competencia prefiero omitir ciertos detalles y permitir que cada quien que haga su propio estudio sobre la v铆a m谩s pr谩ctica parar hacer la recopilaci贸n inicial de informaci贸n. Espero que me puedan comprender 馃槃.
Teniendo claras las herramientas a utilizar, me tocaba crear el flujo para cada servicio a incorporar.
El proceso es el siguiente:
1- El cliente inicia el bot de Telegram: @HiveRemesasBot.
2- El cliente selecciona el servicio deseado.
3- El cliente selecciona la criptomoneda con la cual pagar谩 el servicio (HIVE o HBD).
4- El cliente brinda la informaci贸n requerida por el bot:
- Ingresa la cantidad de HIVE o HBD a enviar.
- Observa cuanto va a recibir y si est谩 de acuerdo acepta.
- Ingresa su n煤mero de cuenta, n煤mero de tel茅fono o factura el茅ctrica.
- Ingresa su nombre de usuario en Hive.
- Ingresa su n煤mero de tel茅fono para ser notificado v铆a SMS (opcional).
- Realiza el env铆o de la cantidad de HIVE o HBD requerida.
5- El cliente recibe una notificaci贸n donde es informado de que su pedido ha sido recibido y que ser谩 procesado lo antes posible.
Hasta este punto el proceso est谩 completamente automatizado. El bot est谩 programado para recopilar la informaci贸n necesaria seg煤n el servicio solicitado.
Una vez el pedido ha sido completado por el cliente, el bot transmite estas respuestas al administrador (a m铆 en este caso). A partir de este momento el proceso se vuelve completamente manual y es operado por una sola persona (de nuevo, yo mismo).
Lo primero que verifico es que la informaci贸n aportada por el cliente sea correcta, ya que a veces los usuarios generan pedidos con informaci贸n aleatoria para explorar el funcionamiento del bot, es algo inevitable.
Luego reviso que la cantidad de HIVE o HBD indicada por el usuario coincida con la cantidad que ha sido enviada a la cuenta de
Si el pedido ha sido llenado correctamente y la cantidad enviada es correcta, entonces procedo a completar dicha orden.
En este punto existen dos opciones:
Si la cantidad de dinero fiat a desembolsar no es muy grande para mi bolsillo, entonces yo asumo el costo total de esa orden y conservo el HIVE o HBD enviado para m铆. En alg煤n punto futuro realizo la venta de los activos que voy acumulando, recuperando mi inversi贸n y un plus (mi ganancia por brindar el servicio).
La otra opci贸n, si no cuento con la liquidez suficiente, es la de ir directamente al mercado a vender los HIVE o HBD recibidos. Generalmente hago uso de intercambios peer2peer ya establecidos en Cuba.
Esta 煤ltima opci贸n puede ser m谩s tardada para el cliente, ya que debo salir a negociar el valor recibido. En cualquier caso, un pedido nunca excede las 24 horas para ser completado.
Volviendo al flujo de este sistema:
6- Una vez dispongo de la moneda FIAT suficiente para satisfacer el pedido, realizo el env铆o correspondiente al cliente.
Ahora debo hacer nuevamente una parada, para explicar otro de los puntos cr铆ticos del sistema: Transferm贸vil.
Transferm贸vil es una aplicaci贸n creada por el Banco Central de Cuba en combinaci贸n con ETECSA, la Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba. Dicha app permite realizar el pago de servicios varios, como aquellos brindados en HiveRemesas. Enti茅ndase:
- Transferencias de efectivo entre cuentas bancarias.
- Pago de la factura de electricidad.
- Recarga de saldo m贸vil.
- Recarga de cuentas nautas (cuentas para la conexi贸n a internet v铆a WIFI).
- entre otros servicios.
Lo mejor de dicha app es que no solo permite pagar mis propias facturas, sino las facturas de cualquier persona.
En el caso particular de la factura el茅ctrica solamente necesito que el usuario me indique cu谩l es el ID de dicha factura.
Creo que esto es un punto cr铆tico para la posible replicaci贸n de este sistema en otros pa铆ses, ya que si usted no es capaz de pagar la factura el茅ctrica de otra persona de una manera sencilla, no creo que le sea factible implementar su propia versi贸n de HiveRemesas. Por favor, confirma en los comentarios si me hice entender.

7- Como 煤ltimo paso, una vez completado el pedido del cliente, me regreso al bot de Telegram para enviarle a trav茅s del propio bot un mensaje de confirmaci贸n como el siguiente
La Transferencia fue completada.

Monto: 2040.00 CUP

Como puedes ver, hay dos pilares fundamentales en este sistema, uno de ellos es el bot de Telegram mediante el cual recojo los pedidos. Yo cree un bot porque no s茅 programar, adem谩s porque al estar alojado en Telegram tampoco tengo que pagar hosting, ni dominio 馃榿. Es decir, precio de mantenimiento del sistema = 0 (cero).
Pero si t煤 sabes programar, puedes crear una p谩gina web, una aplicaci贸n para Android o iOS... o lo que sea que se te ocurra.
El segundo pilar para que este sistema funcione es (en mi caso) la aplicaci贸n Transferm贸vil, pues mediante esta tengo la posiblidad de pagar los servicios b谩sicos de cualquier cubano, siempre y cuando tenga la informaci贸n suficiente.
Si lo piensas, no es una genialidad, o quiz谩s s铆 y me estoy minimizando a m铆 mismo.
Solo espero que este post arroje un poco de luz sobre qu茅 es HiveRemesas, su raz贸n de ser, c贸mo fue construido, usando qu茅 herramientas y cu谩l es el mecanismo para hacerlo funcionar. Para dudas, comentarios o recomendaciones puedes alcanzarme en:
