Oh Dear Community,

I have a confession to make to you this Monday morning.

It’s been a couple of crazy busy weeks for us. We’ve been busy with wrapping up our homeschool, turning work in for homeschool co-op, building our photography business clientele, birthday parties and family member’s graduation preparation. 😳😵‍💫

I love being busy as it keeps my mind going and ideas flowing but at the same time I love having breaks too…and lately those haven’t come as much as I need them to.

I’ve been editing photos non-stop and in between time trying to get over to my mom’s to finish this blanket. For those of you who may not know I am currently sewing a fidget blanket for an aunt that has dementia. My sister is also making one for a friend of our family’s.

My sister’s blanket is coming along very well (sorry no updated photos of hers because we haven’t been able to be on the same schedule to sew together 😢). She has been able to get to my mom’s a lot more than me. On top of of that she set up her blanket process to go a bit faster which was a very smart move.

The second row of the quilt blanket has been added on…

by my mother 🫣. Yea…uhmmm… let me elaborate on why.

Basically my mom sees how tired and busy I’ve been and she didn’t want the blanket to fall too far behind. Bless her caring heart. Without her I would still be struggling to finish this row. Y’all know sewing is not my forte.

Now for the confession part. 🫢

The last time I was on my way to sew I was literally falling asleep on the road 😬😑…not good I know. When I arrived at my moms she could see how wore out I was. My dad even said “what’s going on with you?”

In that moment I admitted to them that I am too exhausted to keep driving back and forth twice a week to continue the blanket. I asked my mom if she would take on finishing it and I will pay her for her time and efforts to help me and thankfully she agreed.

She felt bad accepting money from me but I didn’t hesitate to offer her payment. She has her own life and own sewing work to do and this was my project idea anyway. I how much extra work it will be to add on all the fidget activity pieces. I am so grateful for her, I had to admit I am not fit to finish this big of a job right now especially since it’s not my area of expertise.

So there ya have it, my confession of not being able to follow through with my plans. I honestly don’t feel bad about it because I was putting myself and others in danger while being on the road half asleep. Also, I know that Aunt C will get an amazing quilted fidget blanket because it is being sewn by the best seamstress I know. ☺️

Oh and that day I hired my mom, I didn’t sew a thing. I took a nap in my parents bed for almost two hours before heading home.

I’ll leave you with one last look of the blanket so far. My mom will be sending me pics as she goes so I may still share the process with you. 😉

Here’s one last look at the blanket…
