This morning I left early in search of some milk to prepare Rice Pudding, typical in my region for this time, when I came back I found a long and long path of Bachacos or Atta laevigata ...
I observed for several minutes the way of bachacos, thinking about how to take some pictures, then I said to myself that I shouldn't interrupt those bachacos; they could try to defend themselves and attack, as there were many of them, I was going to get quite bitten from bachacos. After analyzing the situation, I decided to select a bachacho, the most sensual one, to separate it from the others and place it in a safe place so that I could take some pictures of it. After a moment, the lucky insect or my protagonist for the photography session would be Perri.
Perri is the name I gave my little friend, a sensual Soldier Atta laevigata. Atta laevigata is a kind of hymenopteran of the family of formicids, they live throughout Venezuela with the popular name of bachaco ... it is also said to be a polymorphic species since within its colony there are different types of bachacos with unique characteristics and each with special tasks; The Workers in charge of the collection, The Soldiers to defend the colony, The Maidens take care and attend to The Queen, and the latter is in charge of laying eggs for the future reproduction of new individuals.
Due to the characteristics that Perri possesses, I assume that he is a soldier bachaco and that is why I took him away from the colony, since he and the other soldiers were going to have to attack me to prevent me from meddling with the worker's bachacos or with the colony in general ... now they understand why I did it, I did not want to be bachacos food lol ... I put Perri on top of a cement or concrete ring, he was an excellent model, after we finished I returned him to his neighborhood safe and sound ; he is a marvelous soldier dedicated to his job of protecting.
