EU to delay Brexit as Johnson pauses legislative process 

European Union Council President Donald Tusk said on Tuesday that the EU should delay Brexit after Prime Minister Boris Johnson suspended legislation on his deal following a parliamentary defeat.

Brexit remains questionable as divided lawmakers still argue if Brexit will still be executed even three years after the referendum back in 2016.

Johnson finally got his first parliamentary victory, indicating the lawmakers’ support for his deal in an early legislative hurdle.

However, the House of Commons did not agree with Johnson’s timetable and rushing in three days, a signal that the government would suspend the legislative process.

“In order to avoid a no-deal Brexit, I will recommend the EU27 accept the UK request for an extension,” Tusk said via Twitter.

The EU will now be deciding whether the Oct. 31q deadline should be pushed back to the end of January as requested by Johnson.

“If parliament’s delay is agreed by Brussels, then the only way the country can move on is with an election,” according to a source.
