Several years after doing photo work for a paranormal group (which I did for the fun & made nothing doing it). A wonderful woman contacted me to use 3 photos of places I've been for their brochure. I of course said yes, made my offer- and the woman tripled my price ( I thought there had to be a catch).
Well a week or 2 later, I get contacted again- they want to hire me to do their tourism- Well at this point it's sounding too good to be true. That takes us to Wing's Castle- my first stop- hand built- by a man over many many years with his bare hands. Sadly, he also died while working on a project in the castle. I got there at around midnight to do night shots, was there for a couple hours. I met the man's wife and Son (Who I believe is keeping the building going) briefly.
The day shots are from the next morning, when I got a grand tour of this beautiful structure. It was a maze with the most creative ideas I've ever seen (Look at that dragon/serpent RAIN-GUTTER). This is a place that I wish I had the opportunity to stay in, but it wasn't available at that time for guests. Hopefully I get to stay there someday and bathe in the giant copper kettle/tub.
NOW the craziest part, As we were driving to my 2nd trip for this tourism company (a few weeks later). I get a text stating 'Your Wing's Castle photos are going to be on 20/20 tonight!'. 20/20 was about a crime (as usual), but they quickly threw a few of my day photos (which were local to the crime) to set up the area. Side note: we rarely watch these shows, but for some reason we watched the SAME criminal case months prior, but on Dateline not 20/20.
