I've struggled between pacifism and self-defense. I find the arguments for legitimacy of self defense compelling, particularly defense of one's dependents. However, also particularly in the case of a single man or woman, I also find the arguments for ultimate pacifism, i.e. for laying down one's life, compelling.

In all cases, I long for these dilemmas to be behind us. I am very impatient for the consummation of all things, the restoration, the New Heavens and New Earth...

Meanwhile, I'll continue to read, study, ponder, and wonder.
