Hey, @builderofcastles ,
You have some very interesting predictions... Let me give you my "off the cuff" score, simply based on my current take on things.
Housing
Not sure what your idea of "soon" is; I do see the housing market slumping, certainly a drop in prices. Rents and prices in Southern California are insane at the moment, and I think they have to fall before long. But I expect you may be right about actual abandonment happening in other, less desirable parts of the country. Especially places where higher energy costs coupled with less supply will drive people out of their homes.
Rural Homestead
100% here - it would be pure wisdom to take your family and escape to a more rural homestead if there is any way you are able to do so. Find a community that you can contribute your skills to and make as many friends as possible. Get in on local, natural healthy food production and exchange.
Money in the bank
Here you get 100% again. Anyone who keeps more money in the bank than they absolutely have to have there is a fool. Banks are so 20th century, and are going down for sure.
Social Insecurity
This has technically been insolvent for a long time, so you're right again. Anyone relying on SS is in for a very cold, poor retirement.
Stocks
I agree; stocks give the illusion of growth, but barely keep even with inflation.
Gold and Silver
Certainly better than fiat currency, but I'm unsure about your view of the relative importance of silver v gold?
Bitcoin
The best, hardest money there is. Get as much as you can right now while it's available at giveaway prices. Develop goods and services of true value, and exchange them for bitcoin.
Cars?
I know so little about this market; but as inflation continues and people become poorer, I suspect either prices will have to drop, or manufacturing cut back, and excess inventory will have to be hidden or destroyed to keep prices propped up.
And I am absolutely ready for the flying variety!
Thanks for a good read!
