Shortly after this game became an international sensation, there was a story going around that the original developer of Candy Crush was sued and forced to stop by its clone Candy Crush Saga. It was a legal copyright battle against a wealthy team of lawyers a penniless developer had no chance in hell of surviving.

I don't know if it's true, but it seemed likely enough considering how quickly the story was cancelled. Saga continued to obliterate all competition, and it doubled down on implementing more greedy pay to play addictive game features that were never part of the original core game people enjoy.

Seems like an easy choice for me. Same reason I never had any interest in trying recreational or hard drugs. I mock anyone pressuring me to try it just once for fun.
