Fun idea. If you can overlap/lace the ends back upward beyond where they meet in the middle to form a heart, you'll probably get a thicker shape around the key design area, making it last longer. Basically encourage the shoots to continue to grow upward, rather than cut exactly to fit on a shrimpy branch.
