Well it is when you actually succeed that you get recognition, many think that it is an overnight success to climb something difficult. The interviews, the attention, the sponsors etc can feel quite overwhelming. As a matter of fact it is actually quite the opposite when the fame disappears. Sponsors give you money only when you are successful and continue to climb. It is not as I might have thought. It's a pretty honest and down to earth book, I actually liked that Tommy showed so much emotion and his vulnerable side, it is something one might not expect from a male figure especially that many consider that men should not express emotions such as fear, despair, sadness or grief. I think you might like this one Boomy! I am beginning to develop a preference for memoir books, it is something so powerful in knowing that you get a glimpse into someone's real life struggles.
