I would be stoked to hear that you are getting one after reading this!
Yes, I went alone. I am mostly alone when I go in the forest because I need to disconnect and recharge my batteries after a whole week of human contact. I would enjoy company too but few people find spending hours trekking in the forest to be fun...I love to hear the silence, the birds, to marvel at nature's beauty. It helps me realize that life is so much more than I often think it is when mundane worries flood my mind.
I used to be afraid at the very beginnins of building this ritual of forest bathing. Slowly I accomodated. Now I love it, I miss it more and more during the week. I saw deers, rabbits, owls, squirrels. The day after my hammock trip a client told me that she has seen in the news that bear tracks have been found in the forest I had been. It did not prevent me to go and spend my time there the next day. I am not afraid to be alone by myself. I have experienced feeling alone while being with people and that kind of loneliness is truly scary and hurtful. This one by myself feels nice and I like it.
I'm not afraid of wild animals because they usually avoid you and mean no harm, I am more afraid of humans , sadly to say...
RE: Why should you own a hammock?
