Oh so very true! In the ideal situation many die soon after retirement, never cashing out those money . Modern slavery put on paper. And years go by so fast. They truly do.
You are right that many people are genuinely happy to live an ordinary life. In my opinion, as long as they are happy, is perfectly ok. I often see that many delude themselves. That ain't happiness. To a degree , the life of a monk who , in comparison with a modern urban person, shall acquire nothing during their lifetime, seems like the best way to do. Following spiritual peace and nothing else. But not everybody is cut out to be a monk. And yet for some....that is happiness.
Many studies have shown that money will not add up to happiness after a certain level. I can confirm.
