Well the clip is excellent in proving your point! I loved it! I was a very nerdy girl in school, thinking that it will get me so far. I can still remember the shock after graduating University and finding out that nobody actually needed so many journalists as I thought. When I tried to put my resume, many said I am overqualified therefore it is a disadvantage as they have to pay me more. Ironic right? Then , in that moment, I had my first glimpse of existential crisis. I managed, with difficulty, to get over it.
I no longer see the schools as a great way to nurture a young mind. Many educators/teachers are themselves exhausted and mentally drained. In my country, many are underpaid. So their ability to teach a young mind about happiness, richness, mindfullness is close to zero. And I do not blame them . The system is not designed for nurturing creative independent minds. It is designed for creating fearful followers .
But the soul...knows. The later you realize the trap the bigger the regret and resentment. Our parents and grandparents know this too well. I definetely look at the whole world as being set on an unfair foundation of greed, malice, corporation control and manipulation. Self education is truly the only way to get the access keys to your mind again. It's not easy to want to step out of the herd and difficult pandemic times add up to the stress.
What do we gain? We, those who awaken? Time. We gain more time to figure it out. We gain more mental resilience. We gain clarity about our own soul and true priorities in life. We gain a new understanding of what makes me happy. The price is high. Giving up something which looks good or does not work anymore only to dive deeply into the unknown is straight down scary. But....is there anything truly certain? Here the system almost had everybody fooled with the idea that a retirement age awaits you after you have given your money away...spinning on the wheel of life losing years working towards a goal which is not even yours while you exclude other options because you "feel" safe where you are, placed by the beliefs instilled in your very young mind by school, parents, society. And I have barely scratched the surface of my existential dilemma. I do not have a final solution, but I am on my way
