For some couples paper is the only thing left. Sadly enough. I can understand why paper is not very important, but in the same time, for some individuals that paper has a meaning behind it. A sort of put your money where your mouth is. I agree that it doesn't keep the couple together, but it can show a degree of responsability. Of course, there are exceptions. There are so many marriages bound by a paper where the husband /wife behaves badly. What is in the heart is what matters. A thousand papers won't make the man trully love a woman. And viceversa. True love transcends anything.
