Compassion always opens hearts. It was kind of you to approach this in a different manner. Who knows what made this person be the way they are. People are capable of great cruely and it is sad when they do that. I think that treating a situation with an open mind and trying to understand the other person is way better. It takes a great deal of maturity and emotional intelligence. Some people are not a natural empath. But skills like these can be acquired and learned.

All of us have different reasons why we do certain things the way we always did them. Sometimes we reveal ourselves to others, showing our vulnerability, sometimes we do not. I am sure that a person in a difficult situation will always remember the one human who reached out to them with kindness.
