At the forefront of those pushing the doom mongering is Christian numerologist David Meade who penned the book Planet X — The 2017 Arrival.
He claims Planet X, or Nibiru, will pass Earth in October, causing great earthquakes and volcanic eruptions due to its gravitational force.
NASA has debunked the claims as a hoax, and there is no scientific evidence to back up the myth, but this has done nothing to quell the doom prophet claims being shared online.
So what exactly does Mr Meade envisage will happen in the "final days of our planet as we know it."
Speaking on Late Night in the Midlands, a US conspiracy theory radio show, Mr Meade said initially after Planet X passes Earth, "tsunamis would happen after the ocean to rises out of its basis due to polar shift."
