Planet Earth is so interesting, how does anyone ever want to leave?
I snapped these pics in front of the police station before a Community Emergency Response Team meeting. Luckily, a new member who happens to be a florist was on hand to tell me the plant's name:
Kangaroo Paw
From Wikipedia:
"Anigozanthos is a small genus of Australian plants in the bloodwort family Haemodoraceae. The 11 species and several subspecies are commonly known as kangaroo paw and catspaw depending on the shape of their flowers."
One variety is the official floral emblem of Australia.
Why isn't this song the official national anthem for Australia?
