Yesterday, I wanted to eat something delicious, but I had no idea what I wanted to eat. I analyzed the content of my fridge and I saw some chicken pieces, parsley root, parsley leaves, and cream. I created a highly aromatic dish, with creamy gravy. If you like mild dishes like this, try this recipe.

I often improvise in my kitchen, and I create my own recipes on the fly. As I live in a run, I rarely have much time to cook complicated dishes that take hours to make. This dish took just something like 30 minutes of my precious life :D

If you want to recreate my improvised recipe, use:

  • some chicken - I had around 400g of it
  • cream - I used 18% cream, but you could use any other cream you have
  • 1 big parsley root
  • parsley leaves
  • onion - I used 3 spring onions, because I like their aroma but you can use normal onion
  • spices: pepper, allspice, fresh garlic, salt, 1-2 bay leaves
  • around 150ml of water
  • any kind of frying oil - around 2 tablespoons

First, I chopped spring onions and I peeled the parsley root. Then, I grated the root so that it was similar to coconut shrims in texture.

After that, I heated the oil and I started to fry the onions.

After around 2 minutes, I added the chicken, frying it over high heat.

Then, I reduced the fire and added grated parsley root.

One of the last steps was adding the cream to the chicken, followed by 150ml of water.

I also added spices - salt, pepper, allspice, garlic, bay leaves.

After stirring it, I covered it and I cooked the chicken for around 20 minutes stirring it from time to time so that it didn't burn.

At the end, I chopped around 50% of the parsley leaves to add them to the gravy, and the second 50% was used by me to decorate the chicken.

I served it with some pasta :)
