Les había contado que hace un tiempo compré este material llamado Chenille, es súper divino para tejer y a la vez un poco delicado. Es tan suave que se resbala entre los dedos al tejerlo. Con un poco de práctica nos vamos adaptando al uso y podremos lograr la tensión deseada en el tejido.

Decidí tejer 🧶 mi segundo proyecto con Chenille, tengo solamente cinco colores (blanco, gris, champagne, azul claro y rosado) por lo que no tengo mucho de dónde escoger, pero si hay una infinidad de proyectos para hacer combinando estos colores. Me costó decidirme porque quiero hacer un montón. Al final me decidí por tejer una linda tortuga 🐢 que ví hace un tiempo y me encantó. Seguí un tutorial en Youtube así que este proyecto me demoró un poco. Generalmente no uso videos para inspirarme, pero quería asegurarme de hacer algo lindo y lo primero que hice fue ver el video completo. Luego elegí los colores, busqué los materiales e inicié a tejer.

I had told you that some time ago I bought this material called Chenille, it is super divine to knit and at the same time a bit delicate. It is so soft that it slips between your fingers when you knit it. With a little practice we adapt to the use and we can achieve the desired tension in the fabric.

I decided to knit 🧶 my second project with Chenille, I have only five colors (white, gray, champagne, light blue and pink) so I don't have much to choose from, but there are plenty of projects to do combining these colors. I had a hard time deciding because I want to make a lot of them. In the end I decided to knit a cute turtle 🐢 that I saw a while ago and loved it. I followed a tutorial on YouTube so this project took me a while. I don't usually use videos for inspiration, but I wanted to make sure I made something cute so the first thing I did was watch the whole video. Then I chose the colors, looked for the materials and started knitting.

Utilicé Chenille color champagne y color rosado, la aguja de crochet de 5mm, una aguja lanera plástica, las tijeras y mi nuevo y extraordinario algodón de fibra sintética 😉. Una de las bondades de tejer con Chenille es que nos ahorramos algo de relleno, al ser grueso el material la forma del amigurumi se define rápidamente y no es preciso colocar tanto algodón. También usé ojos de seguridad transparentes con borde negro.

El tejido de la tortuga es realmente básico. Se tejen cuatro piezas iguales empezando con am de 5pb, luego 5aum de pb y tres vueltas de 10pb cada una. Colocamos un poco de relleno y cerramos con 3pb. Estas serán las patas.

Igualmente tejemos la cabeza haciendo unas cuantas vueltas de aumentos, hasta 4pb-1aum pero iniciando con am de 6pb. Se rellena, se colocan los ojos, y se comienza a disminuir hasta obtener 12pb. Todas estas piezas, la cabeza y las patas se tejen primero ya que se van incorporando a medida que tenemos el caparazón y la panza. ¡Es muy fácil!

I used champagne and pink Chenille, a 5mm crochet needle, a plastic wool needle, scissors and my new and extraordinary synthetic fiber cotton 😉. One of the benefits of knitting with Chenille is that we save some stuffing, as the material is thick the amigurumi shape is quickly defined and it is not necessary to place so much cotton. I also used transparent safety eyes with a black border.

The weaving of the turtle is really basic. We knit four equal pieces starting with am of 5pb, then 5aum of bp and three rounds of 10pb each. We place some stuffing and close with 3pb. These will be the legs.

In the same way we knit the head making a few rows of increases, up to 4pb-1aum but starting with am of 6pb. Fill in, place the eyes, and start decreasing until you get 12bp. All these pieces, the head and legs are knitted first since they are incorporated as we have the shell and the belly. It's very easy!

Con el Chenille rosado tejí el caparazón, también siguiendo un patrón básico de puntos bajos iniciando desde 6pb en am. En la última vuelta se tejen en BLO para que nos quede el FLO para tejer con el Chenille champagne la panza. Como ven se van uniendo las piezas una vez que empezamos a tejer con el color champagne. Me encantó tejer este diseño de tortuga 🐢, es muy lindo y fácil de tejer. Ahora quiero tejer una en azul y otra en gris.

Espero poder adquirir nuevas madejas de este material porque la verdad es que todo queda hermoso. Les recomiendo usarlo, verán que se teje muy rápido y el resultado es fascinante. Todavía no sé si es lavable, al menos esta calidad del que tengo creo que no. Pero si se cuida, el amigurumi debe durar mucho tiempo limpio.

With the pink chenille I knit the shell, also following a basic pattern of single crochet starting from 6pb in am. In the last row we knit in BLO so that we have the FLO to knit the belly with the champagne chenille. As you can see, the pieces are joined together once we start knitting with the champagne color. I loved knitting this turtle design 🐢, it is very cute and easy to knit. Now I want to knit one in blue and one in grey.

I hope I can acquire new skeins of this material because the truth is that everything looks beautiful. I recommend you to use it, you will see that it knits very fast and the result is fascinating. I still don't know if it is washable, at least this quality of the one I have, I don't think so. But if you take care of it, the amigurumi should last a long time clean.
