Hola a todos. Felices fiestas. Por aqu铆 en mi pa铆s estamos por celebrar el nacimiento del Ni帽o Jes煤s, desde ya empiezan los preparativos para tal acontecimiento. Es tradici贸n regalar o intercambiar regalos en navidad 馃巹 por esa raz贸n a algunas de mis amigas y a contadas clientes (no tuve muchas este a帽o) les he regalado una flor tejida a crochet. Una de mis clientes me pregunt贸 que har铆a con la flor ya que se le entregu茅 montada en un palito de altura 馃槉 le respondo que pod铆a ponerla en un florero de vidrio peque帽o o hacerle uno ella misma y le expliqu茅. Eso me hizo reflexionar y fue cuando tuve la idea de hacer este proyecto.
Hello to all of you. Happy Holidays. Here in my country we are about to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus, and the preparations for this event are already starting. It is tradition to give or exchange gifts at Christmas 馃巹 for that reason I have given some of my friends and a few clients (I didn't have many this year) a crocheted flower. One of my clients asked me what I would do with the flower since I gave it to her mounted on a tall stick 馃槉 I answer her that she could put it in a small glass vase or make one herself and I explained to her. That got me thinking and that's when I got the idea to do this project.
La primera idea que me surgi贸 fue tejerlo con el cordel que compr茅 hace unos d铆as, pero como no estaba segura del resultado ni de si me alcanzar铆a el cordel entonces decid铆 tejerlo con estambre color marr贸n. Este es un estambre muy suavecito y me encant贸 tejer con 茅l. Por esta raz贸n decid铆 colocarle en dos partes del tejido un pedacito de alambre que fui incorporando a medida que lo iba tejiendo.
The first idea that came to my mind was to knit it with the string I bought a few days ago, but as I wasn't sure of the result or if I would have enough string, I decided to knit it with brown yarn. This is a very soft yarn and I loved knitting with it. For this reason I decided to place a little piece of wire in two parts of the weaving that I incorporated as I was weaving it.
驴D贸nde coloqu茅 el alambre? Empezando las vueltas de altura, justo en la que tej铆 la vuelta completa en BLO, en la base del jarr贸n. Tambi茅n coloqu茅 alambre en la antepen煤ltima vuelta, es decir, ya en la boca del jarr贸n. Me gust贸 as铆 porque le da m谩s firmeza al tejido y se le da mejor forma.
Una vez que lo termin茅 quise hacer muchos m谩s, pero ya saben que aqu铆 ABUNDA la ESCASEZ de hilos 馃槀. Igualmente tej铆 otro en color amarillo con l铆neas doradas. Este si est谩 ideal para que la se帽ora coloque las flores que le he regalado. Qued贸 un poco m谩s grande porque el hilo es m谩s grueso.
Where did I place the wire? Starting the height loops, right at the one where I knit the complete row in BLO, at the base of the vase. I also placed wire in the second to last row, that is, already in the mouth of the vase. I liked it this way because it gives the weaving more firmness and gives it a better shape.
Once I finished it, I wanted to make many more, but you know that here there is a SHORTAGE of yarn 馃槀. I also knitted another one in yellow with golden lines. This one is perfect for the lady to place the flowers I gave her. It was a bit bigger because the yarn is thicker.
Me gust贸 mucho este modelo de jarr贸n. A lo mejor teja unos m谩s grandes para colocar los tulipanes grandes y las rosas en exhibici贸n. Espero que esta idea les motive a crear sus propios jarrones. C贸mo ven tambi茅n son 煤tiles para sembrar esos lapiceros decorados a los que ya se les termin贸 la tinta y tambi茅n para colocar la aguja de tejer.
I really liked this vase model. I may weave some bigger ones to put the big tulips and roses on display. I hope this idea motivates you to create your own vases. As you can see they are also useful for sowing those decorated pens that have run out of ink and also to place the knitting needle.
