This weekend I met up with a friend who is a Formula 1 fan and we watched the qualifying together then caught the after party music performances!
Formula 1 Night Race Singapore 2022
For those who aren't aware, the Grand Prix event is back in Singapore this weekend from Friday (Sep 30) to Sunday (Oct 2) after a two-year absence due to COVID-19 pandemic!
Excitedly, I head down to the race with a friend to catch the Qualifying yesterday and woah, what an experience!
Wet Weather Didn't Dampen Our Mood
It was a rainy Saturday. Like many other crazy fans, we still head went down with raincoat and caps to soak in the race mood. Our shoes were damp and muddy but heck it, we still enjoyed our beers, bites and the loud sounds of race cars zooming past us!
I did hear that the weather was very hot the day before, and there were quite a number of foreign fans whom fainted from the heat as they were not used to the tropical climate here in Singapore. Hope they are fine now!

Night Music Performances
Impressively, there were a lot of music entertainments lined up this year. Multiple stages were set up and I read there were as many as 70 over performances over the few nights, including West Life, Suede, Green Day, etc.
Post race, we camped ourselves in front of a live screening booth and enjoyed the performances while having burger bites and chips!
So from the damp qualifying event, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc clinch the pole position. Much to everyone's surprise, the championship leader Max Verstappen finished off eighth fastest. The finals on 2 Oct will be an exciting one.
While the ticket ain't cheap (around two hundred Singapore dollars), it was definitely an enjoyable experience!
