Well, it looks like a space fiction movie script, but fortunately we can say that, in the not-so-distant future, we may have mining done directly through space. The reason for all this is the asteroid “16 Psyche” and it has been found since 1852, but only now the attention is turned to it.
The giant asteroid is 120 kilometers wide and what makes it so rare is that its surface contains several metals such as iron, nickel, platinum and gold. The most crazy and curious thing is that the estimated value of the metals in this asteroid is US $ 10 quintillion (Seriously, I had to go to Google to find out how many zeros this number represented lol).
To have an idea, the asteroride is worth more than the entire global economy. Just to compare the incredible difference, the global GDP for 2019 was $ 87 trillion. It is logical that the 16 Psyche is already in NASA and, of course, SpaceX plans for future space mining. Elon Musk's company won the bid to participate in this project.
First of all, we must imagine that the metallic asteroid is not so close to us. It is found in the Asteroid Belt, between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. But NASA and SpaceX are already planning a space mission and will first take a probe called Psyche as early as 2020. The objective of the mission is basically to study the structure of 16 Psyche. The asteroid is expected to arrive on the ground in 2026.
This probe will not do any mining, but it will be very important for science to also understand the origin of its formation since scientists speculate that this asteroid is the result of collisions between planets since the time when the solar system was forming so we can imagine how old it is.
With space mining when it finally happens, it is quite possible that gold may lose its value in the market as the demand for new asteroid metals will be enormous.
Interestingly, BTC will not be affected by this wave of metals, because with the devaluation of gold that will be evident, it is quite possible that BTC can become even more of a protective asset, because as we know today Bitcoin is one more digital gold than a currency for online payments.
Perhaps we will see a new chapter for the space race between companies to search the asteroids for more precious metals. Well, SpaceX as always is ahead of the others so you need to streamline it.

Bem, parece até um roteiro de filme de ficção espacial, mas felizmente possos dizer que sim, num futuro não tão distante poderemos ter mineração feita diretamente pelo espaço. O motivo disso tudo é pelo asteróide “16 Psyche” e ele foi econtrado desde 1852, mas somente agora as atenções estão voltadas para ele.
O gigante asteróide possui 120 quilômetros de largura e o que faz ele ser tão raro é que sua superfície possui vários metais como ferro, níquel, platina e ouro. O mais louco e curisoso é que o valor estimado dos metais neste asteroide é de US$ 10 quintilhões (Sério, foi preciso eu ter ido no Google para saber quantos zeros este número representava lol).
Para termos uma ideia o asteoride vale mais do que toda a economia global. Só para compararmos a diferença incrível, o PIB global de 2019 foi de US$ 87 trilhões. É lógico que o 16 Psyche já está nos planos da NASA e claro, da SpaceX para uma futura mineração espacial. A empresa de Elon Musk ganhou a licitação para participar desse projeto.
Primeiramente devemos imaginar que o asteroide metálico não está tão perto de nós. Ele se encontra no Cinturão de Asteroides, entre as órbitas de Marte e Júpiter. Mas a NASA e SpaceX já planejam uma missão espacial e levará primeiramente uma sonda chamada também de Psyche já em 2020. O objetivo da missão é basicamente estudar a estrutura de 16 Psyche. A previsão de chegada no solo do asteroide será somente em 2026.
Esta sonda não irá fazer nenhuma mineração, mas será muito importante para a ciência também para compreender a origem de sua formação já que cientistas especulam que este asteroide é o resultado de colisões entre planetas desde a época em que o sistema solar estava se formando então podemos imaginar o quanto antigo ele é.
Com a mineração espacial quando finalmente acontecer, é bem capaz que o ouro poderá perder o seu valor no mercado pois a demanda para os novos metais dos asteroides serão enormes.
Curiosamente o BTC não será afetado por essa onda dos metais, pois com a desvalorização do ouro que evidente será certo, é bem capaz de que o BTC possa se tornar ainda mais como um ativo de proteção, pois como sabemos hoje o Bitcoin é mais um ouro digital do que uma moeda para pagamentos online.
Talvez veremos um novo capítulo para a corrida espacial entre as empresas para buscarem nos asteroides metais mais preciosos. Bem, SpaceX como sempre está a frente das demais então será preciso agilizarem.
