As an enthusiast it is very good to see that companies from different sectors and governments are adhering to blockchain technology, because as we know it is a path that will have no return. This innovation is here to stay and over time it will be quite common to look at blockchain in our daily lives.

It is not only for security that it is a strong and positive point, but transparency is fundamental for anyone to have access to information. In notaries, for example, we can benefit and nobody likes so much bureaucracy and several documents to sign any document.

It is not just countries like China, Japan and South Korea that stand out after adhering to this technology, Russia plans to test blockchain-based electronic voting later this year. The idea came up with the partnership of the company Rostelecom and Waves Enterprise.

One of the biggest events in a country is undoubtedly the elections for president, because the fact that a people is represented by someone who is not prepared in every way can bring terrible results for the next generations and I know what I am saying because here in Brazil it is well known for corruptions in politics.

Some countries use "archaic" ways to vote and here we have used an electronic ballot box for years. With the promise of being safe and reliable, this method has never left me unconcerned. Even today it is questionable and open to manipulation. In the last few years of corruption they have left only the high price we are paying now.

For Russia, the choice of Waves blockchain was fundamental as they had previously been tested to change their previous voting system and it was a disaster, as they suffered many attacks and not to mention the setbacks. With this new platform, Waves Enterprise promises to use five main encryption keys. This would make it impossible to suffer any kind of problem.

For this system to be available at a national level, the company needs to ensure that the pilot can operate completely free of any unforeseen circumstances. According to Artem Kalikhov, product director at Waves Enterprise, he is confident that everything can go well for September, where the first pilot test will be carried out:

"The first race of the new system will take place for the State Duma, which is the lower chamber of the Federal Assembly of Russia, elections on September 13, 2020 on United Vote Day in the Kurskaya and Yaroslavskaya areas. Approximately 600,000 voters can participate in this electronic voting."

I hope that more countries can join this specific sector for the use of blockchain, as we will have more transparency in our actions and we will always be attentive. Who knows, it may be the beginning of a new era free from political corruption when it comes to elections. Once again blockchain being used for our benefit.
