I had a lot of scrap wood lying around my garage a few years ago. And my wife and I were expecting a baby boy, so I decided to build him a toy box.
After I constructed the box, I drew a mountain stream image onto the plywood with pencil. I used an 1/8" straight-cut router bit and followed my pencil lines to carve the image into the front of the box. Then I used different oil-based wood stains to add color to the design.
I hope this is a piece that he will keep at his own home some day.
