The UK fishing season started on the 16th so I was walking down my local river this morning trying to see if the fish know about this yet.
I had a beer on me, specially picked for the Saturday beer channel; well, let's not lie about it, I had a beer on me because I was fishing and I think fishing goes hand in hand with drinking beer. I found about @detlev 's saturday beer post and decided to show it off, heh.
It's barbaric, I know, to drink a fine beer straight out of the bottle, but hey, I was walking up and down a river, couldn't really risk my fancy glasses for this.
This was a wheat beer with lots of coriander I imagine; it had almost a sour taste to it with the fruity citrusy flavours given by the seeds shining right through it. This particular brew is one of my easy to drink favourites on a summer's day.
Don't really have other pics of the beer to share, it was delicious and drank :)
I initially planed to have this beer after getting my first fish out so I kept trying and trying to get one. But they weren't showing themselves so I walked down the river to this:
And finally my patience paid off!
It isn't my biggest perch by far and I had a couple smaller ones more after this but still, this is a great start for the season!
My post is a bit late to the #saturdaybeer party; I went straight to the pub after my little fishing trip and my phone died, just got back, it's still Saturday though, heh.
Cheers guys
