One of the best analogies I heard so far is that Hive is like A Library where all the books are about the Library and how great it is.

The thing is that Hive (and the ecosystem projects) is what everyone on the platform kind of has an interest in, so they get the most views, interaction, and upvotes.

I still see a lot of potential but many things still need to change and be improved.
