I don't think the core intentions are bad and it's more likely out of necessity as their costs (mainly to pay the devs) is off the charts still compared to actual playerbase. I can see it come to a point where they try to just sell Splinterlands to another dev which might not be a bad thing. Things right now are just looking worse by the week.
