Excellent break down! Personally, I just continue to play in Wild (manually) as I want to keep playing the cards that I own. With 240k SPS stakes that gets me around 4-5 SPS + 700 or so glints each battle. The increase in SPS since the entry fee pretty much resulted in a lower SPS price and lower earnings.

If anything, the main thing that needs to be done by the team is to make sure old cards retain their value better and nobody in their right mind is going to buy new packs as it's a sure thing to get crushed.
