I got exactly the same sense with Thetan Arena, for sure one of the more fun Play2Ean Games out there but the entire play2earn model for 90% of the players I would say is unlikely going to be profitable. I occasionally also play 1 or 2 games for fun with my free heroes but I'm stuck at recruit level. (I also haven't put in the effort to actually get good)

You should really have a closer look into Clash Of Streamers which is a mobile Play2Earn Game that is totally under the radar still in the Crypto Space despite it being top-grossing already in the Philippines who also adopted Axie Infinity early on. It's a Gacha Game that is quite casual on the surface with a lot of depth behind it and Play2Earn Mechanics that are sustainable. I've been enjoying it since the soft launch ~8 months ago trying to learn as much as possible also getting that early adopters' advantage since it's bound to get big based on the numbers they are showing.
