The linear reward cruve was way better. The entire change toward a non-linear curve was made to 'fight abuse' with a convenient side effect of the bigger accounts who are in charge earning more because of it and the smaller account seeing their post rewards totally killed because it makes no sense to upvote/support smaller accounts as it brings way less curation rewards. It also killed the ability to reward comments killing a lot of engagement in the process.

A lot more things need to be changed in order to make the steem blogging model something that actually works. The way I look at it all now is as a failed experiment.
