These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
Saturday was an ok day in betting even though the action was quite limited. 3 more matches on Sunday that are set out to be very interesting with quite some pre-game positions on them...
Zulte-Waregem vs Charleroi
Zulte-Waregem after 4 weeks are in 14th place and have shown good things against smaller teams getting quite unlucky in those matches and were not good enough last week against Club Brugge. Overall they are just a mid-table team (my personal average rating is 5.9) and they will be without offensive player Dompé today. Charleroi have 2 points more and are in 10th place being unbeaten with 3 draws and a win. My personal average rating of them is also 5.9. Thet played a good 1st half last week and a poor 2 half which went against the scoreline and they looked willing to go forward at the start of their matches. Both teams looked ok so far this season and I expect an even match where both the teams are going to want to go for it not being overly cautious. The line seems to be derived from the match early last season where Zulte had a bad start and Charleroi was winning everything which made them a -0.5 favorite which they ended up winning old 'Charleroi-Style' with 2 late counters. I don't see that as a real reference for now and took a tiny 0.2 unit initial bet on Zulte-Waregem +0.25 @ 2.084. Last season Zulte didn't perform all too well in home matches where they were the underdog which holds me back quite a bit in the stakes. I do like the over as Charleroi no longer is the team who just breaks down the opponent and scores on the counter under their new coach. I took an initial 0.25 unit bet on Over 3.5 @ 2.62 and will look to possibly add in-game as both are much more heavy on 2nd half goals. Charleroi has gone over in corners in all 4 matches while Zulte went over 9 in 3 out of 4 matches. The line and odds are adjusted to this but sometimes they move too quick early in the match so I'll be looking to possibly get in there. Should be a fun and interesting match!
Club Brugge vs Beerschot
This one is pretty straightforward. Beerschot so far has been the worst team in the league and they are in the last place with 1 point which came from a rather lucky draw against AA Gent. Club Brugge on the other side is starting to get things in gear improving week-by-week with a convincing win against Zulte-Waregem last week. I fully expect Beerschot to try and build a wall which Club Brugge will break sooner or later after which more goals will come. My only real option is the bet the home side and I did take an initial 0.25 unit bet on Club Brugge -1.75 @ 1.795 with an eye to possibly increase the stake in-game.
Mechelen vs Union
Kv Mechelen played an excellent 1st match of the season winning 3-2 from Antwerp but followed this up with 3 rather disappointing performances. 2-0 away against AA Gent / 1-3 at home against Eupen / 1-0 away against Seraing. Union on the other hand has been on fire in all their matches and they are the team I personally have given the highest average score. The tricky thing is that the market isn't really underestimating them and they are now a -0.75 away favorite against Mechelen similar to their previous matches yet they crushed those pre-game closing lines going 3W-1L with the loss being a flattering win by Club Brugge. So as much as I want to oppose them, there isn't really much justification for it. So far I always kept stakes low or went agaisnt them after they already were in the league with some good success. Today, I'm going for low stake/risk and higher odds as Mechelen did show in their first match what they are capable of and I don't see it as that unlikely for them to put up a good performance. 0.2 units on KV Mechelen +0 @ 3.16 is what I am willing to lose on this and I might add in case Union scores first. I'm also expecting very high energy and a good pace with both teams being willing to move forward from the start which made me go for 0.25 units on Over 3.25 @ 2.40 again with an eye to potentially take more in-game. I like Mechelen on the corners since they won both their home matchups so far while Union lost both their away matchups. Both combined also went 4W-2L on having 10 corners or more. I took Over 9.5 corners @ 1.90 and will be looking to expand my position in-game when limits are higher. I'm leaning toward Mechelen +0 corners @ 1.93 which is available at Wink.org but I first want to see the match picture before potentially getting in. Another match similar to Zulte-Waregem vs Charleroi where I expect quite some more betting action as they both should be attractive encounters.
