These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
Saturday was turned out as pretty low-profile with the bold pre-game selections in my previews going 2W-1L. The Genk Team Total over should have been a big bet right at the start of the match when the odds reached 1.80+ but I was unable to pull the trigger and unable to get in much more with the goal(s) coming very early for them. As always, 4 matches to take a look at on Sunday with pre-game positions on each of them...
Mechelen vs Beerschot
KV Mechelen took a deserved win away against Zulte-Waregem last week and are now unbeaten in their last 3 matches picking up some form after underperforming early in the season. Beerschot is also unbeaten in the last 3 matches taking the deserved home win against a poor Anderlecht last week in a match where they were the underdog. They have had a lot of crazy matches so far this season and rank both highest in both goals scored and goals against. After the 5-5 against Kortrijk, their coach seemed to have realized that this style was too extreme so the focus was a lot more on defense in the match against Anderlecht. I expect this again to be more the case in the match today. Beerschot has shown to be a great home team but not always as solid away while for Mechelen it's the same thing. I can see how Mechelen can be the slight favorite in this match but do think the +0.5 line on the Visitors who at least have an equal quality team and a similar form is too much as it fully covers the draw which is not an unlikely result. I just took a small pre-game bet on Beerschot +0.5 @ 1.842. They do at times have complete off days and if it shows to be the case I will likely opt-out, if they have a good day I might get in more. Mechelen generally also is the better 1st half team not having lost a single 1st half at home while Beerschot ranks quite poor losing their last 4 aways 1st halved. I will also keep my eye out on potential over bet but will need to see the less defensive approach of Beerschot first. Both especially have high numbers in the 2nd half with an average of 2.83 goals.
AA Gent vs Zulte-Waregem
The story of AA Gent lately is that they have been without their key strikers (Yaremchuk-Depoitre-Chakvetadze-Kleindienst) posing a big question mark who will score the goals. In the mid-week match against Red Star, they had a hard time scoring and lost 0-2. In the match last week against Charleroi they were more focused on the defense and won 0-1. Important player Odidja is back and makes a big difference but they are still without Yaremchuk while Depoitre is questionable. Kleindienst who hasn't shown all too much will start as their main striker. Zulte-Waregem is a team that can't really be trusted at the moment, they should have enough quality in their team but things just haven't been clicking and they always seem to give it away which now leaves them in 15th position. They are also no longer the team playing wide open from the start and many of the goals in their matches come late when they have to play all or nothing. (84.6% of their matches have at least 1 goal after minute72'). I expect this to be a match were Zulte-Waregem starts out very focussed on defense hoping for a counter and AA Gent not having enough offensive qualities to really cause much danger. It feels inevitable that mistakes will be made at some points and late goals are also not unlikely. I am going for "No Early Goal" taking a pre-game trade on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.810 which I will trade out off taking the profit if possible at some point. I also took a small bet on Zulte-Waregem 1st Half +0.5 @ 1.88 as they are a fairly good 1st half team and AA Gent who only won the 1st half in 2 of the 6 matches might still feel the Europa League match in their legs. AA Gent only saw less than 9 corners in 1 of their last 9 matches while Zulte only saw less than 9 corners in 1 of their last 7 matches. 9 corners often tend to be a key number so I will be waiting for that live to take some on the over.
Anderlecht vs Standard
Anderlecht this season has been far from impressive and overrated as they mostly played against the weak teams being unable to rank higher even with most of the top teams losing a lot of points. They played poorly last week losing 2-1 to Beerschot and a lot came down to lack of intensity. Overall I still don't see them as good enough to really be competitive. Standard has not been in their best form with only 1 win from the last 5 league matches, but they played good in the mid-week winning 2-1 from Poznan with Raskin Standing out as a player. last week they played a weird match which ended in a 2-2 score against Eupen with their goalkeeper scoring the late equalizer. Anderlecht does have the advantage of not having played during the mid-week which has shown to be a real advantage. I do see Standard right now as the slightly better team and I wouldn't be surprised for them to continue the good form they showed against Poznan. I just can't see them as a big underdog in this match as they always perform well against Anderlecht. The expectations from the home team are just above their actual skill level right now the way I see it, so I have to go with Standard as the underdog taking a small-medium position on Standard +0 @ 2.67. I also don't expect this one to be an open match with a lot of goals and took a small-medium pre-game position on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.12 as Anderlecht at home averages 0.67 goals in the 1st half while Standard away averages only 0.50.
Kortrijk vs Oostende
Kortrijk has been on a horrible home steak going 1W-4L-1P against the Asian handicap line while they are excellent in away matches. I write week after week that Kortrijk is home Over & Away Under and this trend also continues bringin in some good profit. Oostende started the season as one of the revelations but are now in a bad streak with 3 losses and a draw in their last 4 matches including a 2-0 loss against waasland in the mid-week. They are on the same spectrum when it comes down to goals going over at home and under away which pretty much cancels out the over angle for this match. Oostende does have 1 constant which is a lot of corners going over in 9 of 13, Kortrijk at home however is 5 on 6 on the under. With Oostende no longer in their good form, this might be a good opportunity for Kortrijk to finally get a win again. I did take a small careful pre-game position on Kortrijk +0 @ 2.008 as the bad home record seems to have been overly calculated into the line while the bad streak from Oostende feels like it is being neglected. This match could be one of the most interesting for Live-Betting.

Pre-Game Preview Bets I continue to share many of my pre-game bets in all my preview posts. Most of them are smaller bets or trading positions and some of them I took early in the week and might not have the exact same odds available. These bets should just be seen as info and not as something to blindly follow. Record on them so far this season is 116 Bets | +16.22% ROI on Flat Unit bets (See Results) Bigger pre-game bets which are rare these days I also tend to take extra on those in BTC.
