AA Gent vs OH Leuven
AA Gent started the season in a way where they showed instantly solid on the defensive end and they stayed that way in every match so far staying well below the 1xg against in each of their league matches even against good teams. They pulled somewhat of a stunt last weekend winning with a 2-1 score against Club Brugge where they showed a ton of discipline and were helped by a red card for Club Brugge. It never really felt like the 2-1 would come but it did anyway. Against La Louviere away, they were helped by the goalkeeper and it easily could have been a draw. At home against Mechelen it was no real reference as they were horrible. OHL remains a tricky team as they should have enough quality in the squad to do ok, but somehow they always end screwing things up. The style that their coach wants to play is one with high pressure and intensity where they quickly try to get to the goal of the opponents with risk of getting goals against. This resulted in a good start away against Charleroi which got compromised by an early stupid red card. In the 2nd match, their goalkeeper pretty much lost it in a match where it raised corners and where they were not that bad against Club Brugge despite a 0-3 loss. Last weekend, the bad streak continued with a 1-2 loss against Standard in a match where it showed that their central defenders lack speed, they took a deserved 1-1 and they pushed to get the win against a devensive Standard which resulted in a counter and the 1-2 loss. So it's tricky this match as it's a team with momentum against a team who has no momentum. OHL I see as an over team while AA Gent should be an under team. AA Gent hasn't yet been in a position where they are the clear favorite and are expected to make the play which will give them some pressure while OHL is in a situation where they won't be high on confidence especially when they fall behind. Basically, a clean home win with multiple goals would not really be a surprise to be, but an outright away win also wouldn't be. Taking anything on this match at this point for me feels like a pure gamble. No Pre-Game Bets
Anderlecht vs Kortrijk
Anderlecht so far this season kind of gave mixed signals at times in matches against less strong opponents showing really good things with the right mentality. However, last week on the first real test they really just showed not good enough by far and especially the midfiels with Kana - Llansana doesn't feel good enough. So while they qualified for the Europa League which was a big win. However, in the league, they took just 3 on 9 and have a lot of pressure on them today to win against Kortrijk as the clear big favorite. Kortrijk started not the best with 0 on 9 only scoring 1 goals while getting 3 against. They played a good 1st half against Club Brugge and could have scored, they also could have scored against Antwerp but were hit by high efficiency of the opponents. Eventually, they did score against Charleroi on a 1.2xg showing that mainly at home they might be dangerous. I do expect Anderlecht to come out with very high intensity trying to put something right after the match against Union which also might leave them a bit vulnerable in the defense for counter attacks. The pressure will be quite high on them and too much so in a way another bad result would not come as a major surprise. I'm kind of leaing toward the over as I can see both scenarios where Anderlecht has a convincing blow-out win or one where Kortrijk manages to score and where Anderlecht potentially still wins it or drops points. The only bet I was comfortable with for a tiny try is 0.06 units on Anderlecht win & Both To Score @ 2.891 and I will stick with that for now.
