The police only act as a deterrent. Whenever shit actually happens, you absolutely cannot rely on the police to keep you safe. You cannot expect them to even follow up, and go after the person after the fact, even if you've got evidence and information to prove what happened and help them track the criminals down.

However, if you were to defend yourself, you have a good chance of getting in trouble for that. If someone were attacked by some criminal thug, and you intervened and saved the person, you are likely to get into serious trouble.

The police do not take your safety seriously. They do take your defending yourself(taking responsibility for your own safety) as a threat.

This is all the practical side of the argument, not the moral part. This is all from my personal experience as well as my wife's past experiences and other people who have shared similar stories with me.

We call them "road pirates" because basically all they do, is armed robbery of innocent people all day. Speeding and other victimless crimes are fundamentally immoral and ineffective and is a breeding ground for greed and corruption.

If the police were aware of all this, but were doing their best with the power and discretion that they enjoy, and we all felt safe because we were safe, then you'd have an argument. They don't. They abuse it.

If someone were to break into my house right now, I would be between a rock and a hard place. Do I defend myself and my wife from the attacker? I'm putting myself at extreme risk with the law by defending my life and my wife's. If that sounds ridiculous to you, then take this red pill now or risk learning it the hard way.

The police are not going anywhere because they are the bottom line of government's rule over the people by violence. The government doesn't care if you get robbed, raped, and murdered so long as it doesn't upset the herd's consent to be ruled.

That's what their job is, to maintain control of the population by use of force. Not protecting. Not serving.

We don't need police, at all. If the police completely dissolved, people would start arming themselves. People would start working working, becoming more physically able, becoming more aware of their surroundings, being more in the know about bad areas of town, and making their homes better protected. EVERYONE would become a harder target. If everyone's packing, and criminals don't have laws to hide behind where they know if they steal from me, I might get a frikkin possee, find out where they are and blow them away, they're going to at least think twice. This would also lead to private security. The government steals money from people through taxation and pays the police with it. So, the police are completely, 110% loyal to the government, not the people. With private security, they would be loyal to the people, to YOU.

Would you rather have someone protecting you to the extent that the law says it's OK? Or would you prefer your hired security protect you and your family's life without restriction?

This would also lead people to forming more of a community. Community vigilance is an effective tool against criminals. Community vigilance plus the ability to use force to protect the community is even better. A drug dealing pimp might live in your complex. There's nothing you can do about it because the police are protecting him. Break-ins start happening. Police don't do anything about that either. People get robbed, people get hurt, property values go down, the drug dealing pimp profits because he's got his unit bolted up tight. He's got guns and knows how to defend himself. There's nothing the community can do about him. With no police, he would have been out at day 1 because he can't take on the whole community without the police's protection.

The only argument to keep police is that we rely on them to use violence to protect us. They don't protect us though. And we are not allowed to use violence to protect ourselves.

It's because of the police that criminals have the upper hand.
