Or at least the sidewalk.
When I took these pictures I actually thought they were yellowjackets, but upon further examination, I am not even sure they are in wasp family at all. I didn't want to, um, disturb them, so I just took a couple quick shots with my phone and moved on.
Does anybody know what these are? I'm in Portland, Oregon. These pictures were taken about three weeks ago.
