Trying to give an urban hike the #monomad experience. I owe this bumblebee five bucks for making this image worthwhile. I wonder what she'll spend the money on...
In black and white, this squirrel looks like a still life. But I think that was her intention.
Cats always look cute in black and white. Especially this neighborhood cat.
Bo does not agree. No cats look cute to him.
Leaves are hard. I've learned I have to make it obvious that light is shining through them, otherwise they end up looking two-toned and flat.
Water seemed like it could be pretty easy, but it was actually hard to get this to look shiny once I sucked all the color out of the image.
Without the gradients of blue green in the splashes, this duck is more or less just making a monochromatic mess all over the right side of the photo. I did my best to clean it up, but lost the duck in the process...
These ducks, however, turned out perfect. I actually like them better in black and white. Intimate moments between mother and child. Be still my heart.
Or something to that effect.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my entry for the May 28th #monomad challenge in the Black&White Community.
