I don't think I've publicly expressed my appreciation for this group. So I want the world of hive to know that
I REALLY FRICKIN ENJOY HAVING A PLACE TO VIEW AND SHARE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS.
I'm not saying that to try and get a win. I just love #monomad photography. I took classes back in the community college days. I had a great teacher. We used film. I begged my boyfriend's mom to let me skip rent so I could buy an Olympus 35mm SLR. Spent way to much money on T-Max 100 and dark room chemicals. Now all I have to do for a black and white photo is snap a picture on my phone and drain the saturation. Of course, that doesn't mean it will be good.
The image resolution is pretty poor on an iPhone as compared to my DSLR. At least on my iPhone. So when I go to edit the photos, I generally find myself working toward a more artistic image as opposed to the crisp photographs that I often prefer.
That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the results.
With decent lighting, I can get some good portraits:
And selfies:
And family photos:
But, sometimes, no matter what I do, it just comes out looking like a cell phone picture.
Can't win 'em all.
All photos are mine, taken with whatever iPhone I had before I upgraded to whatever version of iPhone I have now.
Thanks for looking. :)
