Hi Friends!
This morning, instead of just sleepily heading into work – I decided to take a moment to reflect, and do things a little differently. On my drive in, I was starting to feel that regular “dread” of going into the office. This made me realize that I am letting that feeling STEAL my joy! So instead of heading right into work, I stopped by a park and enjoyed a little morning sunshine on my face.
I decided to pull out my phone and capture the moment in a Mini Vlog. Just to give you a little background – I started a “Mini-Vlog” series recently and got a great response from it. The point of these shorter vlog’s (probably around 2-4 minutes) is to share a small dose of inspiration, ask a thought provoking question, or reflect on an experience – that maybe doesn’t warrant an entire long form blog/vlog.
I was feeling so peaceful and inspired this morning after spending a little time in the park, that I know I will carry this energy with me the rest of the day. Even if I start to feel stress creeping back in, or start to feel a little short of breath – I will remember the energy I felt this morning and stop to breath.
The funny thing is, I just feel like the energy of this message is following me around today. After filming this vlog, I got talking with a friend at work about this topic. She was complaining about how toxic one of her co-workers is and how that person always puts others down to feel better about herself. My friend and I had a great discussion about how she was letting that co-worker steal her joy and her power.
I would challenge each of you to think about what areas in your life steal your joy. It could just be getting caught in the rat-race of life and forgetting to stop, breath and feel grateful.
I hope you found a little dose of inspiration from this mini vlog and are able to find a little space to ground and set intention for your day. What do you do when you start to feel like something is stealing your joy? For me, I breathe deeply and SMILE. There is something about physically smiling that actually improves my mood and reminds me of what is important.
I hope you all have a wonderful, grounded, joyful and light-filled day!
Xo, Lea
Yesterday, I did a video showing all of the gear I used to make videos while traveling in Vegas and I had a great response from that! I thought it might be fun to start including a list of what gear I use in each vlog – just to add another layer of transparency and value to the post. I sometimes use a little different gear in each video, depending on the location and topic. Today’s setup was a little more minimal because it was filmed on the go. If you ever have questions about the gear I use or how I use it – please don’t hesitate to ask!
