Most people look at the cat's eye and see pretty iridescent green or blue eyes. Did you know that we cats are more nearsighted than humans are? Our visual acuity is somewhere between 20/100 and 20/200! This does however, leave us well suited for hunting and capturing prey.
Our eyes has something called tapetum lucidum, which is the reflective layer behind the retina. This allows us to see better at night. We need one sixth the light that you humans need to see by.
In bright light, our pupils close to slits which reduces the amount of bright light that shines on our retinas as well as improving our depth of field. Our visual field is 200 degrees as opposed to human visual field of 180 degrees.
