I go out in the day with the sun
as a warrior;
no weapons,
without shield,
with erect shoulders
and the naked breast
against the force of despair.
My heart hurts
for the images of desolation that my eyes see
and the sounds of wailing that my ears hear.
I witness the flight of my muscle mass,
of the abandonment of friendships
for not disturbing the dryness of the family oxygen.
Long walks in the concrete desert
for lack of transportation.
God, we have offended you
Because of so many plagues in my nation?
