The celebration and remembrance of this important historical day takes place on July 25th, ironically the day my son was born.
El día de la abolición tomo lugar un 25 de julio, irónicamente el mismo día del nacimiento de mi hijo.
Suffice to say this day has now become a double important day for me. The end of slavery of innocent people that did not request to come to an island so far away from their homeland with strange customs and languages, and the day my only child decided to come into the world.
No es necesario añadir que el día de la abolición de la esclavitud es un día doble importante para mí.
