Metropolis Building, Madrid
The Metropolis building is one of the most emblematic in Madrid. And probably one of the landmarks that come to mind when we think of the city's famous and busy street, Gran Via. The building is on the corner between the Gran Vía and Calle de Alcalá.
Earlier today, I was sorting through some photo archives, and I came across these pictures that I took the last time I traveled to Madrid in 2019. For some reason, I had edited them in black and white and had kept them. So I thought it was a good idea to share them here.
From what I've read, the Metropolis building was inaugurated in 1911, and it took four years to build it. It was the tallest building in the city until 1921. And its use is for offices.
