Hello Hivers and music lovers!
I'm late by a few hours today. On my side of the world, it's after midnight, but I didn't want to miss out on participating this week in the #threetunetuesday or #ttt hosted by @ablaze.
And what is it the #ttt about? In the words of Ablaze:
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
You can find out more in ablaze's post with his recommendations for this week.
It was rainy here on Tuesday, and for some reason, I had a feeling of melancholy with me for most of the day, even though it was a very hectic day. And I don't know if it was because my mood was so that I spent most of the day listening to Bob Dylan or because of listening to him I had that feeling. Listening to Dylan always puts me in a particular mood.
My choice for today is three Bob Dylan songs. He doesn't need much introduction. Considered one of the most influential artists of popular music. He has received countless awards, including the Nobel Prize in 2016 for literature for his musical compositions.
Many over the years have said that Dylan doesn't have a great voice, but for me, it is the perfect match for the poetry of his songs.
So let's go with my three tunes, that today, I multiply it by two because I'll include some covers.
Tune No.1 - Mr. Tambourine Man
This song written by Dylan is from the album, Bringing It All Back Home from 1965 and is one of my son's favorites. He is a Dylan fan.
This song became famous, in the first place, not because Bob Dylan played it. But because it was the single with which the band The Byrds made their debut. They put it at No. 1 for the time.
Tune No.2 - Blowin' in the Wind
This song is from Dylan's second album, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, and it is one of my favorites. Urban legends say he wrote it in 10 minutes, and many say that it is an ode to the civil rights movement. The song didn't have much success at first until it was covered by the 60s folk music trio Peter, Paul, and Mary.
Like many of Dylan's songs, Blowin' in the Wind has been covered countless times by many famous singers. But I recently discovered this cover on YouTube by Canadian folk singer Jessica Rhaye & the Ramshackle Parade that I like very much.
Tune No.3 - Like A Rolling Stone
It is Bob Dylan's most emblematic song and the one that catapulted his musical career and turned him into a rock star. It came out in 1965 and is considered one of the most acclaimed songs of all time.
Lots of artists have covered it, but for this #ttt which today has been x2, the version I chose is the one by The Rollings Stones.
This is all for today.
Thank you very much for reading!
Enjoy the music, enjoy life!
