Self Respect or Relationships - What do you value more?
I value self respect
There is nothing in this world, in my opinion, that can replace self-respect. Relationships can be sustained based on shared values. Any relationship that goes against one's principles or self-respect should be ended as quickly as possible. It is always preferable to have no relationship than to compromise one's self-respect and life principles in order to have one.
You have nothing if you don't have self-respect.
If that special someone decides to leave you, what do you have left?
Nothing.
You don't have them, and you're not even sure who you are.
Your first priority should be to love and respect yourself, after which you should look for someone wonderful to share your life with.
If you value someone more than you value yourself, you'll always be afraid that someone will abandon you. And, honestly, if you don't have any self-respect and they can walk all over you, they will.
When given the option of being with someone or respecting yourself, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS choose respect for yourself.
Don't lose your self-respect in the process of forming a relationship.
Be strong enough to avoid any situations or relationships that make you feel bad.
It's all about self-respect.
Because I've had a firsthand experience of quitting a relationship for self-respect, it's helped me stand out and above other people who are persuaded into doing whatever to keep their girlfriend or boyfriend only because they can't find someone like this again. Keep your self-respect first and everything else will fall into place. Even if he/she is the most gorgeous person on the planet, if you feel used and disrespected in the name of a relationship, ditch it and walk away. There's a lot more to learn in life.
I was in a serious relationship at the time. After a while, we became rather busy. She became busier and began to pay less attention to me. It didn't sit well with me. I began to have serious doubts about it. I aggravated the situation to the point where she began to suspect that she no longer loves me. I didn't allow her time to mull it through. I lost all patience and engaged in the most indecent behaviour. She got increasingly adamant about avoiding me. I lost all respect for myself and began to believe that I was useless. I even tried to commit suicide. But it wasn't the end of the story. Finally, after all of my efforts, I decided to relocate thousands of miles away. For that reason, I went 2 to 3 months without speaking to her. She came to me just a few days before my travel. She was in tears. If you genuinely love something, set it free, as a wise person once remarked. It was meant to be yours if it returns. Losing your sense of self-worth will only serve to damage the links of your other relationships. Without that single person, there are a large number of others that love and care for us. They belonged to you. They are yours to keep. Sometimes, in the midst of the chaos, all they need is time. If you truly care about them, you must learn to be patient. I understand that being patient might be difficult at times, but it is well worth it.
By the way, if it doesn't change, the best thing you can do is choose your goals and objectives; I'm sure love will find you eventually.
