Formaldehyde.
During a dissection class for gross anatomy in medical school, the unpleasant stench initially struck my nostrils. The stench turned me off. When I came close to the cadaver, even my eyes sting.
Over the next year and a half, my team and I gathered around the cadaver that had been assigned to us. We worked hard, learned a lot, laughed a lot, and matured a little.
When I finished gross anatomy, I was acclimated to the stench and missed it.
Now, the smell of formaldehyde brings back memories of my team's camaraderie. Our learning a-ha moments Our staff is hard at work. Our goofy antics. I have fond memories that bring a grin to my face.
I adore the scents of jasmine flowers, coconut oil, roasted spices for chettinad curry, sambar, gardenia, soil after the first rain, Johnson's baby lotion, Eucalyptus oil, coffee, cardamom, etc.
Formaldehyde will always be a unique substance.
