They did not have to think, just remember, so their brains lost their plasticity and now they can not adapt to the world that is changing so rapidly and as a result are isolated, working for pennies and blaming power in everything.
They reason like this: I've learned so much, I know so much, now I need a high salary. But this does not happen, because now everyone has an education and therefore it does not give any advantages. They would understand this, but the consequence of developed intelligence was the low plasticity of the brain and, accordingly, low intelligence.

You just do not take into account that not all educated people are really educated. Everyone has an education, but not all have knowledge. The first zealously learn, absorb all the knowledge that gives them. The second deal with anything, but not this. So, we are talking about the first category of really educated people who are in isolation and have difficulties with everything in life, because the intellect is based on memory, which is lost with age.
