Since I have been back on Steem more frequently I have noticed there are massive changes (or I am just behind :P). I thought that with all of the new Dapps coming out and that I intend to test out it would be a good idea to have a 'Weekly Check in', where I debrief what I ahve explored in the previous week and my plan for the coming weeks. It is also a good idea to breakdown the previous weeks rewards, and where they are going (powering up, delgation etc) to make sure I am making progress.

Rewards claimed in the last 7 days

Author rewards

According to my wallet in the last 7 days I have claimed 6.540 Steem power and 5.325 SBD in author rewards. Of these rewards I powered up an extra 3.416 into Steem Power. I also subscribed to the subscription bot kiwibot@kiwibot, which offers a month of daily upvotes for a one off payment of 5 Steem - so far I have been really happy with the results. There are different subscriptions available but this one seems to fit with me.

Curation rewards

According to my Steem wallet in the last 7 days I have claimed a measly 0.164 Steem power over the last 7 days. I generally try and keep my voting power above 80% and just upvote content I enjoy. It will be interesting to see if my curation rewards rise with my Steem Power...

New Initiatives I have joined

Actifit

actifit@actifit is a great new initiative which rewards you in Actifit tokens and also upvotes members posts, simply for installing and using their fitness tracker app. To join, simply download the Actifit app from actifit.io or from the Play Store, and start tracking and earning. Actifit tokens will be exchangeable for fitness gear in the future and also directly for Steem or FIAT after the release of SMTs. For more information check out their blog actifit@actifit, or join their Discord channel.

Dlike

dlike@dlike is another new initiative I joined and tested this week. The idea behind Dlike is for us to be able to share interesting links from the internet (with our own commentary) which we think our followers might enjoy. Check out their blog dlike@dlike, or their Discord channel for more information.

Initiatives to look into

Steem Monsters

Yes, Yes I haven't joined onto the steemmonsters@steemmonsters craze yet. I hear alot about it but haven't had the time to read more. Im sure lots of you will have your opinions on this one - has it been fun?

Steem-UA

steem-ua@steem-ua is another initiative that has come to my attention over the last few weeks. My understanding is that they have created a new algorithm which determines a users value. Users can delegate to steem-ua@steem-ua and recieve upvotes depending on their Steem-UA score. I hope to read about this more and report my findings back to my followers.

Conclusion

As you can see there is alot going on with the Steem block chain and these are just a few oppurtunities I can see moving forward and diversifying away from just blogging on Steemit.

I have started the #weeklycheckup if others think this is a good idea to share progress and grow together. I will do my best to upvote those using the tag, and might even throw out a few random steembasicincome@steembasicincome shares to those using the tag.

As always I invite any comments and questions!
