Favourite Artist: Flying Lotus
Genre: Wonky, IDM, Nu Jazz, Glitch Hop
I've only listened to one of Flying Lotus' albums so far (Cosmogramma, which is my profile pic) but it's great and a wacky glitch hop piece of fun. It takes no time at all to confront you with strange glitchy electronic and harsh sounds with Clock Catcher. Check out: Cosmogramma (of course, 2010)
Favourite Album: Funeral by Arcade Fire
Genre: Indie Rock, Chamber Pop
Arcade Fire's masterpiece debut is passionate and emotional and is bookended by two of my favourite rock songs of all time. This album is raw and melancholic, introspective and bittersweet and it just make you feel. I get so many emotions listening to this album, especially the first track which is a contender for my favourite song of all time. The singing isn't great technicality-wise but it just makes this album that much rawer to me, his voice feels almost frail. Check out: Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) and In the Backseat
Favourite Song: Forget Not by Ne Obliviscaris
I've reviewed this album (and this song), it's one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite albums. So yeah it's pretty fantastic.
