Absolutely! That's a theme I've heard numerous times in various books about aging, and definitely have felt myself as well. The external need for approval becomes far less important as you realize doing what others think is "right" will lead to a far-less happier life than if you do what you believe is right. You're in a good spot then despite all of this! Far better to have more to live for than less. Miss you guys!
