The blockchain technology has shown tremendous growth in numerous fields from Supply Chain to Finance, asides this, it has been gaining traction in the gaming industry after the launch of Cryptokitties in 2017. Cryptokitties has proven to be a huge success to a certain level because it showed the interaction between the acquisition, transfer of game assets and the blockchain. It proved the commercial viability of the Blockchain games based on the trading, ownership, and collection of virtual objects. This invention has led to the development of numerous collectible games but the downside is that most of them lack digital interactive entertainment. Asides the marketplace functionality, these games lack several features compared to sophisticated video gameplay. To some extent, this could be as a result of the high cost of storing game data on the Ethereum blockchain or the scalability issues affecting the Ethereum network due to the limited number of transactions that can be processed by a block within a specific period.
In order to design a game which can be fully integrated with the Ethereum network, whilst handling the graphics image transactions and processing of a conventional game, we utilized ThunderNet as the decentralized storage while creating CryptoBarons. The creation of PVP such as CryptoBarons with much more storage and processing need on a blockchain will actually reveal the true potential of a decentralized system. The game components of CryptoBarons include; Kingdoms, Marketplace, Virtual Reality and Battlefield. The marketplace is where the sale of game assets happen while the kingdom provides users with a unique name. A kingdom is usually different from the other. For the battlefield, this is where the Baron armies battle each other and finally, the virtual reality enables the players to have a feel of virtual presence which look as if the player is actually inside the game.
The project team comprises of advisors and the management team. The management is led by Aronu Ugochukwu who has experience in the development of decentralized application and wallet. Other members of the management team include; Abafor Chima (CIO), Okoro Emmanuel (COO), Okoko Benjamin (Lead Developer), Mmaduekwe Ugochukwu (CTO), Mowah Ebubechukwu (Blockchain Developer) and a host of other professionals. In conclusion, the CryptoBarons was built to enable non-technical people engage with blockchain as they purchase, play and transfer in-game assets in an intuitive and easy way. This way, the diffusion and adoption of blockchain technology is accelerated.
